Respiratory conditions

Salt therapy (halotherapy) is widely recognised as a safe and natural way to support respiratory health from colds and coughs to Asthma and COPD. It is not a medical treatment but a complementary wellness service. With many clinical studies suggesting the benefits.

Results are impacted by lifestyle such as diet, smoking and exercise. Sessions recommended do vary according to lifestyle.

Asthma

The bronchi (small tubes carrying air in and out of the lungs) become sensitive and inflamed. Then if something irritates your lungs, the airways narrow, the muscles tighten and you are left wheezing, coughing and feeling the tightness. Inhalers are a short term fix. Salt therapy widens your airways, kills the bacteria that irritates, reduces the inflammation and reduces IgE levels.

How many sessions? From 10-30 once or twice a year with tops up if required. 75-98% efficacy.

Hayfever and allergies

Hayfever or allergic rhinitis affects many of the population. With a range of symptoms from a blocked nose to eye irritation, coughing and even nosebleeds. Some people simply manage this from a few months a year to the whole year. The salt is anti inflammatory and removes pollen and airborne allergens. It reduces IgE levels which makes you particular sensitive to allergies.

How many sessions? From 15-30 once or twice a year with tops up if required. At difficult times regular sessions of 2-3 a week is recommend. 75-98% efficacy.

COPD, Emphysema, Bronchitis, Bronchiolitis

COPD, Emphysema and Bronchitis, Bronchiolitis are conditions that affect airflow due to inflammation or obstruction in the airways. COPD is a lung disease that includes Emphysema caused by smoking/vaping, workplace dust or pollution. Think of lungs like upside down trees. COPD is an obstruction anywhere in the tree. Bronchitis is where the branches/larger airways are affected. And Bronchiolitis is usually viral affecting the smaller airways/veins of the leaves. It mostly affects children. Emphysema is damage to the leaves/alveoli. All can cause chronic coughs, wheezing, chest infections, breathlessness.

Salt is anti bacterial and anti inflammatory helping to clear the airways and reduce narrowing. It helps to shift mucus.

How many sessions? This depends on lifestyle factors such as smoking. Breathing usually becomes easier after just a few sessions. 20-30 sessions regularly are recommended. Reports are of people reducing the use of nebulisers, carbosistien tablets and reducing infections with regular use.

Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition affecting the lungs and digestive system. A thick mucus clogs the airways leaning to chest infections, wheezing and coughing and lung damage. Mucus can block the pancreas. Salt is anti bacterial and anti inflammatory. And helps to shift mucus.

How many sessions? Salt therapy can bring significant relief after a few sessions where breathing becomes easier. It reduces infections. 20-30 frequent sessions are recommended for long term results.

Common cold, coughs, sinusitis, flu, ear infections, Covid

Many people are affected by colds, viruses and infections. Which can cause mucus, uncomfortable swelling, pressure and bacterial infections where you can suffer mildly or be wiped out. Salt is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial and can bring immediate relief.
